  1. The past really is a different country. Bork had no love of Roe, but he had legal reasons he was prepared to debate, not the half-demented political rant we got.       Of course, the reason he was unsuitable had nothing to do with how he was treated or his VCR rentals. He didn't believe in judicial imperialism, but didn't believe in Congress either. He was all for unlimited executive power and carried out the Saturday Night Massacre for Nixon.
