@the_transit_guy I was there when the big push to buses happened. Most regarded it as a cop-out in terms of investing in monorail or successor systems. The buses initially failed families and the disabled miserably, and only sort of work because of the sheer number they throw at guests.

@the_transit_guy I’m also unaware of an American city with a bus system that has frequent arrivals, short ride times to few stops, and goes places anyone (who isn’t a high school student or a vagrant) wants to go. The “good” systems manage 1 of these things, at best.
