    @ccmbond @BennyNgalim @OrinKerr I would value that outcome, but events did not seem to bring us there. Kavanaugh's political outburst at the hearing hurt that end deeply. Maybe people felt Barrett's views would restore that more limited purpose? But her lack of qualifications didn't achieve that it seems to me.

      @ccmbond @BennyNgalim @OrinKerr Putting aside people's philosophical commitments in the law, I can't see any watching of the Kavanaugh or Barrett hearings that doesn't say "Wow, Democrats got a good bit done with a less limited role for the court. Now it's time to dismantle the safety rails and go for broke."
