  1. For a long time, this wasn’t a problem, as both parties were interested in institutional legitimacy, and at least one party was conservative in the mold of a cultural/legal status quo.       This post-conservative party is interested in an agenda that has an omnipotent executive with no practical limits outside of brass-knuckle fights with Congress, few civil rights, and a law based on the revealed personal convictions of judges who do not believe precedent matters.
