@NYCPBA @Eat_Your_Crooks They’re trying to ensure people show up at trial, you corruption-bloated troglodytes! Something called data shows it works better than issuing vague threats at arraignment and jailing folks when they can’t show up. But those posh pensions suggest you’ve never heard of poverty.

@NYCPBA @Eat_Your_Crooks PBA: Letting non-rich people go home before trial means they won’t come back. City: OK, mostly they’re poor and have circumstances that prevent them from coming, so we’ll help them get to court. PBA: NOOO what about our job security? Those are handouts! Socializm!!

@NYCPBA @Eat_Your_Crooks Failure to Appear violations are largely a problem of poverty and circumstance. Most people have no interest in risking detention in NYC's violence-ridden hellholes. Instead, studies show modest steps like reminders increase compliance dramatically: thecentersquare.com/michigan/third-circuit-court-to-roll-out-free-e-reminder-service/article_0a2b4a64-281c-11ea-ab71-0bbe74f232f4.html
