Justices in recent times are hired for their views, and with an unwavering life-tenured majority, they’re proceeding with pre-planned certainty and dispatch on their projects. But if we’re resigned to a raft of deeply unpopular super-legislation, the only course forward seems persistent and careful checking pressure from a divided Congress over years.
