      @jonathanchait These sorts of media whines have 2 claims in common: That Cotton was calling for National Guard backup. >Cotton explicitly calls for the military to override local electeds and LEO’s. We’d call that martial law in any other context.

    @jonathanchait That Bennet wasn’t fired for lying in very detail about how the column got on his page. > This is harder. But no one disputes that Bennet materially lied to readers and coworkers regarding his role in the column’s genesis. That gets you fired at any company I’ve been at.
