@PatrickOwnby1 @mattyglesias @RichLowry The Senate *had* a different purpose prior to the 17th Amendment. Give that the Executive branch has largely taken over its now-nominal treaty power, it’s not clear what it’s for. The nicer decor for all that advice and consent they do?
