    1. In a functioning democracy, @NPR would refer this information to the DA for criminal prosecution (filing a false instrument and false arrest come to mind) and go for an easy civil suit. Instead, the DA is fiscally bound up with the police unions and the whole system is rotten. @bradheath/1305515768063373312

    Indeed, the only thing you can rely on, should charges need filed after vast public pressure, is for the DA to give a nice exculpatory presentation to the grand jury they puppeteer. Which they do in all police cases, but not for any other. Imagine that.
