@GniessGirl @steve_vladeck @accidntlmystic Not to justify the extremes the Trump administration has gone to here, but all of the past administrations have (at least in some quarters) held fairly absolutist positions about immunity from subpoenas. They were willing to compromise, but this isn’t a position unique to Trump.
