@neal_katyal @vplus The response to Puerto Rico was racist ab initio. I didn’t think that was a secret to anyone who even glanced at the US response which in another country would have been derided by us as proto-genocidal. It didn’t hurt that the political cost to hanging them out to dry was 0.
